Electronics Recycling Information for Consumers
Begining January 1, 2009 consumers, including households, charities, school districts, small businesses, and small governments will have a collection site within their vicinity to drop of unwanted electronic devices. Acceptable devices include TV's, Monitors, Laptops and Computers. It is important to note that peripheral devices such as keyboards, mice, copiers and printers will not be allowed to be dropped off free of charge. There may be some sites that accept other devices and products as part of their operations but the authority will only be financing the collection, transporatation and recycling of the specific items listed.

Before operations commence the authority will provide consumers with more detailed information as to specific drop off locations within the state and the options utilized for end of life disposition for materials derived from the recycling process.  The manufacturers, the Department of Ecology and other stakeholders with interest have agreed to set high standards for the processing of the byproduct materials and residuals leftover from the recycling process.  It is the authority's goal to provide for collection, transportation, and environmentally responsible disposition for all of the covered electronic products collected, as efficiently as possible.

Until operations begin on January 1 please click on "Where to take other recyclable materials " under the WA Dept. of Ecology link on this page and query the states database for locations currently accepting electronics (may be fee based).

Our collection and transportation network is still under construction so please come back to our site frequently and look for updates.
